Wow, that worked really well! I'm going to be using this quite a bit I would imagine. One of the best things about it, besides being free, is that there are not limits on storage. My own websites storage is limited to 25mb which gets eaten up pretty quickly when you start posting pictures. Oh, you can click on the photo to get a larger version.

This is me at a Peace demonstration on March 20, 2004. I'm posting this as a way to test a new photo service provided by Blogger.
Forgiveness and Confession
In trying to understand the Catholic take on the issue of forgiveness of sins, and the unfamiliar concept of confession to a priest and the even more alien idea that the priest then can in some way act as God's agent in forgiving sins, I can see some benefit in the idea.
I am not yet wholly convinced, but there seem, to me, to be some points in favor of the idea. To confess a sin to the priest one must first really recognize it and confess it to oneself. I may confess them to the Lord but this is easy, the Lord is not sitting physically next to me. The idea of confessing to another human being is terrifying! Already, as I contemplate the idea of needing to confess my sins in order to obtain forgiveness for them, I find myself resisting temptation with more determination than normally. :-/
Like I said, I'm not yet really convinced of this particular doctrine. But more and more I see sense in it. On top of helping me to resist temptation and
fear sin, it allows me to actually make sense of
John 20:22-23 which in my "Protestant" view really makes little sense and was pretty much ignored.
