MILL VALLEY / Physics teacher under fire for gun experiment / Parent's complaint raises issue about legality of stunt
Every year, physics teacher David Lapp brings his Korean War era M-1 carbine to school, fires a shot into a block of wood and instructs his students to calculate the velocity of the bullet.
It is a popular experiment at Mill Valley's Tamalpais High School, where students are exposed to several unique stunts that Lapp performs in his five classes every year to illustrate inertia, velocity and other complex formulae.
Turns out, it also may be illegal.

Later on in the story some idiot shrink says the teacher is insane. No, it is the shrill gun-phobic liberal crowd who are insane, raving mad idiots! I'm always amazed at the lengths these fools will go to eliminate guns in the deluded belief that it is guns that are the problem in the world and not the criminals using them... really though, I should not be amazed, they are very consistent in their idiocy. Yet still every time they go one step more in the insane campaign against guns, like suspending little boys who point a finger and shout "Bang" for weapons violations, or suspending a kid for drawing a picture of a gun... well each time I'm baffled and dismayed and amazed that anyone can take such silliness seriously. But there they are, grim faced government employees proclaiming how there is zero tolerance for this or that. Bah!
