What to do...
I've been getting pretty cranky lately. The whole evil empire thing is wearing me down. I can't get around it no matter how I try. I live in a vile place, a place swarming with uncaring evil people who see no problem with slaughtering millions to ensure their own comfort. I'm not exaggerating either. As long as it's "others" who do the suffering and dying Americans really couldn't care less, as long as the price tag isn't too high of course. We wouldn't want to have to forgo that second or third car now would we?
But then I'm "benefiting" from this evil empire too, or so some would claim. Just what am I doing about changing it? Nothing at all to tell the truth, other than the occasional brief prayer to God, "Lord make them stop!"
The question is "What can I do about the evil empire?" The answer, sadly, is "Nothing." Some will say I could campaign politically to change it. I say the empire is immune to change through voting. In the first place the widespread use of electronic voting machines as much as guarantees massive fraud in elections. Then there is the issue of ballot access. The two branches of the ruling Imperial party have pretty much made any third parties impossible by ballot restrictions and campaign laws designed to make sure only the Imperial position is heard by most of the public. On top of all of that I'm not all that convinced that it's even proper for a Christian to vote in the first place, but especially when it is never "for" anything but always "against" something, if you know what I mean. Most of the time we end up voting for "The Lesser of Two Evils" not realizing that we are still voting FOR an evil!
The really disgusting thing is that the vast majority of the people don't seem to see much, if anything, wrong with the US having bases in nearly every nation on the planet, in the US overthrowing governments to put in "Democratic" regimes, which really means compliant puppet states, or in tossing away the constitution out of fear of a terrorist attack, even though you are much more likely to die crossing the street!
Finally, and most discouraging of all is the fact that few Americans are able to grasp the obvious fact that terrorists aren't attacking us for no reason, but are doing it because we are over there meddling and pissing them off instead of staying at home minding our own business as we ought to be!
What about revolution? Violent revolution is out for many reasons. First I don't believe in violence as a means of changing society. Second there simply is not support for this sort of thing.
Which brings me back to "Lord, please make them stop. Amen."
