Jelly Belly and Wine...
Yesterday Mike and I visited the
Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield. :-) I was reminded of
Willy Wonka as we began our tour. I'm looking forward to the
remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp that is coming up in July. It was a fascinating tour, I never would have imagined it could take almost a week to make a jelly bean.
Later on we drove up to the Napa valley where we had lunch at
Bistro Jeanty in Yountville, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was, by far, the best lunch I've had in years! We had a spicy smelt appetizer, an obscure wine I had never heard of called Ten Rows Pinot Noir, or something like that, from a vineyard in the
Carneros area. Very tasty stuff. I had a beef dish whose name escapes me now :-) Superb, along with crisp string beans and potatoes with blue cheese. For desert we had coffee and chocolate mousse creme brulee.
I picked up a brochure on the
Wine Train and
Copia for future trips.
Really, I never should have moved out of Napa, that's my favorite valley I think.
