Baseball and Spring
Supposedly it is spring. You couldn't prove it around here though. As far as I can tell we are still in the middle of winter. The cold weather is starting to get on my nerves too, rain, wind and cold. I'm pretty sick of it.
Somehow the Giants have managed not get rained out this week. I don't know how they managed that the way things have been. Things are looking pretty shaky for the Geritol Giants so far. 2/3 of the starting outfield are on the DL and the bull pen is giving up crooked numbers in the late innings way too often. Still,
baseball is life and life is baseball.
In 20 days Mike and I will be on our way to Washington D.C. I've been told that D.C. stands for "District of Criminals" so I'm a little nervous about going. Being that close to so many politicians just might make my head implode.
I've been trying to find out places to go and things to see while we are there so if anyone knows about the area it would be cool to let me know what's there that most people don't know about. So far I'm planning on seeing the various
Smithsonian Museums, shoot that might take up the whole trip right there now that I look at it! Someone told me the
Philips Collection is pretty cool.
I do want to see some of the historical stuff, maybe
Mt. Vernon,
Monticello and the
Manassas battle site. Or anything else in the area that is easy to get to.
