Upgrading my computer
Yesterday I struggled to upgrade the memory on my computer. I finally, this morning, managed to get it at least partially done. The first go round I bought the wrong memory, 133 Mhz instead of the 100 Mhz I should have used. Needless to say that didn't work. Then I bought the correct memory but it seems one of the chips is defective. I finally got one new one and one old one working together so that I have increased the memory from 128 MB to 384 MB. That is a huge improvement on its own, but I’m still going to go back to the store and try trading the defective chip for one that works, and see if I cannot manage to get the system up to the 512 MB it’s designed for.
I had been thinking I would like a new computer, but just adding the memory has made this one seem like a new one already, and it's a little cheaper than a whole new machine too ;-)
