Doctor SCOTUS
The SCOTUS (AKA The Supremes AKA The Supreme Court of the United States) has decided that it knows better than you and better than your doctor and better than your local government, what you can and cannot use as medicine. Nine rich old bastards condemning people to lives of misery and sometimes die because they cannot eat without it makes me sick... bleh.
Add this to the list of crimes against humanity committed by the American Empire.
The descent of the United States of America into a truly evil and totalitarian empire has been much quicker than I thought possible back in the early 90's when I was first thinking that it was time to begin active resistance against the FOG (Federal Occupation Government). There was a large resistance movement then that included anarchists, militia members, libertarians and conservatives. That movement was destroyed by the FOG back then, via a massive propaganda campaign that allowed the Republican branch of the Imperial Party to sucker much of the resistance movement into believing they were the answer to the rapid transformation of the nation into a fascist state. With the election of Republican majorities in all branches of the FOG the resistance thought it had won, and it vanished. Now it seems I was right back then, but it may very well be too late to openly consider that sort of thing now. Not if you want to stay out of the gulags.
Where does that leave me now? I see a number of choices:
1. Embrace the Empire. Just go with it. Revel in being a subject of a glorious world empire that can and will crush any resistance anywhere on the planet. Stop worrying about right and wrong, stop caring that "we" are murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent people worldwide. Stop caring about those silly "rights" our ancestors fought and died for and get on the bandwagon, Hail Bush!
2. Armed revolt. Yeah, well that isn't going to happen. The vast majority of the subjects of the empire are going with number one, as far as I know there is no real feeling in the empire for this option.
3. Political action. That isn't going to happen either since both of the major parties are nothing but branches of the Imperial Party and so-called third parties are effectively marginalized by the domination of the media by the Imperial Party and by ballot laws that keep them off of the ballot in much of the nation. Free elections in America might be a nice idea but the Imperial Party will never allow them.
4. Non-cooperation, passive resistance, drop out... not very satisfying or effective as far as I can tell.
Well crap, that leaves me with nothing but despair and disgust, which is where I'm at and where I've been.
God I hate the American Empire!
America, love it or leave it... yep, maybe that's the solution, California should leave America!
US out of California Now!
