Plain text emails
I use the
Firefox Browser for the web and the companion program
Thunderbird for email. The way Thunderbird organizes emails in threaded folders is far superior to other programs I've used, I love it. My only gripe
was that I could not figure out how to change from HTML (rich text) to plain text without reconfiguring the program through the options menu. It turns out there is a very simple keyboard shortcut that does this! All you do is hold the shift key while you either start a new email or while you click on the reply button. That's all there is to it. Right then you get plain text composing. Why this information seems to be nowhere in the Thunderbird "help" documents is beyond me.
My thanks to
Joho the Blog for this information.
